FREE advice & sign-off

We normally charge your employer for the costs of us advising you on the terms and effect of a settlement agreement.

NO WIN NO FEE negotiation

If you wish for us to negotiate your settlement with your employer, we may do this on a No Win No Fee (or rather a No Increase, No Fee basis).

If the employer wishes to pay to you directly the costs of you taking advice (or if the employer is not paying anything towards costs) then we will agree a fee with you directly.

Employment Tribunal

95% of the work that we do is Fixed Fee, however, we have set out below some guidelines for pricing.

Hourly rates

We have a range of lawyers with different levels of experience, across the UK, from £95 - £495 + VAT - depending on your requirements, which will be confirmed to you at the outset.

Estimates

Straightforward case: £10,000 - £15,000 + VAT

Intermediate case: £15,000 - £20,000 + VAT

Complex case: £20,000 - £50,000 + VAT 

Reasons which would make a case more complex are: discrimination or whistleblowing, voluminous issues in dispute, numerous witnesses and/or documentation, and/or more than 2 days hearing. 

Disbursements 

In addition to the above estimates, it may be necessary to incur the following disbursements:

  • Expert fees: medical reports etc

  • Barrister fees: £2,500 + VAT per day

  • Travel costs: fuel, parking or train fares.

Stages of an Employment Tribunal Claim

Stage 1: reviewing documents, taking your instructions and drafting pre-claim correspondence and including Acas Conciliation.

Stage 2: drafting particulars of claim or a response to an Employment Tribunal claims, preparing a schedule of loss, exploring settlement and dealing with a preliminary hearing.

Stage 3: dealing with disclosure of evidence, drafting witness statement and preparing for / attending final hearing.

If not all stages are required, the above estimated will be reduced accordingly.

How long will your matter take?

  • Stage 1: 1 – 4 weeks

  • Stage 2: 1 – 6 months

  • Stage 3: 12 – 24 months

  • All charges are exclusive of VAT, currently 20%.
